Caroline Adair, Studio Director
Gabriella's interest in drawing started at a young age but became her passion in her late teens. She attended Loughborough University and completed a Graphic Communications and Illustration degree. After graduating from university Gabriella built a successful commission-based art practice.
In 2021 she was inspired to change direction in her art practice and express herself more fully, exploring different techniques and subjects.
Because Gabriella's drawings are created with so much control and are practicing the genre of hyperrealism she says, "it’s important to me that the actual subject I’m drawing isn’t controlled and has an element of disruption and chaos."
Each work in the Slime Series is created from Gabriella's own references and hand drawn using colouring pencils.
"For me, the process of getting the right reference is just as important as the final outcome of the drawing itself."
Gabriella developed her style by experimenting with different textures, objects, and lighting.
She just celebrated her first solo exhibition in London 2022 and is looking forward to showcasing her Slime Series in various parts of the world.
